In preparation for this holiday season, Jai is offering a limited amount of gift cards for private lessons at their private studio, Flaming Otter Ceramics in Vancouver’s Chinatown (288 E Georgia, #130)

These are offered as 1-day classes for $250, or 2-day classes for $500, and 3 hours per class.

Private classes can have one or two students in them, so feel free to bring a buddy if you want to share!

Clay, tools and firings are included in this price, underglaze/glaze are only available for the 2-day workshops.

$250- 1-day workshop for 3 hours. Great for introducing a technique and building a small sculpture. Some options for these classes include:

• 6” tall torso with heads, build from slabs, working on human anatomy and some animal features

• 6” tall animal busts built from slabs, working on details on the animal heads

• Small animal heads made from 2 pinch pots

• Have something specific you want to learn? Let Jai know and they can cater the class specific to your needs

$500- 2-day workshop, 3 hours/day. These classes are even better for more extensive learning about each technique, painting on underglaze and spend THAT much more time learning as much as we can in the time frame. Some options for these classes include:

• Any of the 1-day classes listed above, plus on the second day we can make. the sculptures a bit bigger, add far more details, clothing or colour using underglaze and sgraffito technique

• Animal sculptures or teapots, built from solid to hollow

• 8-10” tall Human torsos with animal heads, plus sculpting clothing and painting on underglaze
